Your question can be answered many ways.
If you yourself want to give her jewelry just for the sake of giving her a gift,… don’t do it. In my opinion it seems materialistic. Treat her to a museum outing, a special trip to her favorite restaurant, or theme park etc.
If she herself requested it and absolutely keeps on begging for one, then take this as an opportunity to teach her responsibility. She obviously wants it, and this will make it easier for you to make her understand its value.
Silver or gold, let her choose.
Just make sure it is small simple and feminine. Big chunky “bling bling” is just ridiculous on a young teenager.

13 is old enough to know that she should be taking care of her belongings.
It is up to you and how much you want to spend remember you can get white and rose gold as well as yellow. If she is pale get her silver and if she has an olive or dark complexion get her gold. Or even find out what she prefers first

Depends on their maturity level.
I remember my parents gave me expensive and really pretty jewlery at right around that age, and I ended up losing my necklace.
Now that I’m old enough to know better, I feel really bad about losing it.
They even told me to be very careful with it, but at that age you’re forgetful, and accidents always happen.
I’d wait…it took me til I was actually about 16 to really gain a sense of responsiblity over my own personal items, and take good care of them.

Depends on who is giving the gift and why. If you are her girlfriend I wouldnt spend too much money – just get something tasteful she will be happy to wear. If you are her Dad and its a special occaision – something delicate and youthful in gold. I think the style matters more then the material.

Yes.
If it’s from a loved one, and it’s going to mean a lot to her it would be a perfect age.
My grandmother spent a lot of money on a beautiful bracelet for me when I was 13 years old. Everyone told her not to.
It’s not my favorite, because I’ve had it so long.Just make sure she realizes how special it is.

Personally, I’ll get silver for her.
But then again, it depends on what her complexion is.
If I’m not wrong, if the veins on your wrist is blue then its a cool complexion, suiting silver more.
If its green then its warm, suiting gold more.

Yeah. That’s old enough to be responsible with real jewelry. I actually had some gold jewelry when I was about 10 (gifts from relatives).
